SPAD Student wins first Sudbury ROCKS!!! Race Run Walk for Diabetes Scholarship

SPAD 2nd Year Student Chenguang Zhu wins scholarship!

Congratulations to Ms. Chenguang Zhu who was awarded the 1st annual Sudbury ROCKS!!! Race Run Walk for Diabetes Scholarship.
A graduate of Laurentian’s English for Academic Preparation program and current Sports Administration student, Chenguang enthusiastically recruited and led Laurentian student volunteers and participants in Northern Ontario’s largest running event.  She also promoted the event in the campus club she founded; the Friday Afternoon Sport Club. Chenguang’s “Team International” was vocal on the course as they cheered on participants and showed their community spirit and Laurentian pride.  Through the Sudbury ROCKS, Chenguang met Sara and Neil and is now volunteering for the Beaton Classic and planning to be part of other running events through the year (and looking forward to the ROCKS 2012).

Established by Sudbury ROCKS!!! Race Run or Walk for Diabetes, the award recognizes a Laurentian student, in any discipline, for their commitment as a volunteer or race participant at the Sudbury ROCKS!!! Race Run or Walk for Diabetes (marathon, 1/2 marathon, 10km, 5km, or relay events), and for their contribution to healthy living and diabetes awareness in the Sudbury community.
Congratulations Chenguang!!! SPAD is very proud!!
